About
Hey, I’m Saheel. I recently graduated with a Master of Science in Geoinformation Science and Earth Observation from ITC, University of Twente. Before that, I worked as Data Scientist at Blue Sky Analytics, a climate-tech startup in India, where I led the development of machine learning and geospatial solutions for Earth observation applications. My interests lie at the intersection of geospatial engineering, remote sensing, and artificial intelligence, with a focus on building scalable systems that translate research into real-world impact.
Over the past 6 years, I have developed machine learning models, cloud-native geospatial processing pipelines, and production data systems for applications including greenhouse gas emissions estimation (Climate TRACE), carbon sequestration, agricultural activity detection and urban deprivation mapping.
I primarily work with Python and the geospatial open-source ecosystem (GDAL, QGIS, and Rasterio), alongside PyTorch, TensorFlow, Docker, and AWS.
I also hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Indraprastha University, New Delhi.
